Chelsey and Joe's Wedding at the Lord Jeffery Inn

Chelsey and Joseph were married on July 23rd, with a ceremony and reception at the Lord Jeffery Inn

These two met at the end of their senior year in high school at the prom. They weren’t each other’s dates, but they hit it off during the limo ride on the way to the dance! After that, they started dating, and one day, while they were on vacation in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, he woke her up early on a Sunday morning to watch the sunrise. On the beach, as the sun was rising over the ocean, Joe asked Chelsey to be his wife!

Joseph and Chelsey found out that they were expecting before the wedding, so Chelsey found a simple, light dress that ended up being easy to modify—which was so important when their little Mackenzie surprised them with an early arrival!

One of the most amazing moments of the day was the fact that Mother Nature was out on full display, as there were multiple rainbows at the wedding. They couldn’t stop talking about how “magical” the night was!

Joseph & Chelsey, thank you for letting us be part of your special day! We wish you nothing but the best.

Sarah and David's Wedding at the Lord Jeffrey Inn

Ryan Williams

Sarah and David were married on October 25th, with a ceremony and reception at the Lord Jeffrey Inn

Dave grew up in Chicago, and so that’s where he wanted to propose. The day before Thanksgiving in 2014, he brought Sarah to the John Hancock Tower on Michigan Avenue. Sarah suspected something, but Dave had a history of surprise dinners, so there was no real guarantee of a ring. Dave managed to play it sufficiently cool as the restaurant staff prepared a table with a stunning view of the Loop, Navy Pier, and the Wilis (nee Sears) Tower. With a little-unexpected help from a tourist taking pictures in front of the table, Sarah didn’t notice the flowers on the table until it was too late and Dave was already on one knee. When she said yes, the entire dining room broke into applause.

Before the ceremony, Sarah and David decided to have a first look. She couldn’t wait to see Dave in his suit and for Dave to see her in her dress, and she seemed so much more relaxed for having seen him.

The ceremony itself was beautiful, especially the look in Dave’s eyes when he couldn’t keep from watching Sarah the entire time. It was clear that these two truly care for each other as well as for the people around them.

After the ceremony, Dave and Sarah had a “yichud,” which is a moment in Jewish tradition that the bride and groom share alone after the ceremony. For just a few moments, it was just the two of them, and they both came back from it feeling ready to take on the reception and all the celebrations ahead.

Sarah & David, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your celebrations. It was truly a beautiful and memorable occasion!

Mackenzie + Mike's Lord Jeffrey Inn Wedding

Ryan Williams

Mackenzie and Mike were married on September 4th, with a ceremony and a reception at the Lord Jeffrey Inn in Amherst, MA.

These two met while they were at Hamilton College, and they dated for some time before they got engaged. When Mike proposed, they were visiting their alma mater with their black lab, Colby. It was a snowy day as they took a hiking path in the woods, and Mackenzie was throwing snowballs for Colby to chase when she turned around, and there was Mike kneeling down with a ring.

On the day of the wedding, Mackenzie and Mike opted for a first look, and then we took plenty of pictures before the ceremony. They wanted to enjoy the reception without having to worry about fitting in time for pictures after the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was held outdoors, on the back patio of the inn, in beautiful fall weather. It was a heartwarming ceremony, filled with obvious affection, as they were surrounded by family and friends.

Then, it was off to the reception. The food was wonderful, and I especially loved the way they utilized the rooftop at the inn. The music was phenomenal as well, and everyone seemed to honestly be enjoying themselves as they all partied hard in celebration of the new couple.

Thank you, Mackenzie & Mike, for trusting me to capture this amazing moment in your lives! I wish you both nothing but the best together.

Tonka + Corey's Wedding at The Lord Jeffery Inn

Ryan Williams

Tonka and Corey were married on October 31st, with a ceremony and reception at the Lord Jeffrey Inn

Their story started a long time ago, as they met in fifth grade and continued to see each other throughout middle school and high school as their friend groups overlapped. But during their senior year of high school, they had the same lunch period, and after that - were fast friends.

Tonka decided to do a Color Run one day, and Corey surprised her when he agreed to run the 5K program with her. A year later, they did a second Color Run, and Tonka was even more surprised when this time Corey was waiting for her at the finish line with a ring in his hand!

The wedding was a beautiful fall ceremony that featured pumpkins throughout to really capture that Halloween/October essence. There was even a giant pumpkin in the middle of the ceremony space.

After the service, there was a lovely reception at the Lord Jeffrey Inn. Tonka and Corey have several vegan friends, and they wanted to make sure that their friends were taken care of on their special day—so they took pains to make sure the main course were able to be enjoyed by all (and even had a special dessert).

It was clear throughout the day that both Tonka and Corey have great senses of humor, and one of the clearest moments of that fun-loving attitude was when they went to cut the cake. It would not cut properly because the fondant was so thick, and the resulting moment was hysterical.

Tonka & Corey, thank you for allowing me to be part of this amazing time in your lives! I wish you both nothing but the best in your futures together.
