Sara and Jim's Wedding at the Red Barn at Hampshire College

Ryan Williams

James (better known as Jim) and Sara were married on October 2nd, with a ceremony and reception at the Red Barn at Hampshire College.

Sara and Jim met at Stearns Square Bike Night eight years ago, and once they started dating—that was it! Jim proposed over playing cards in a cabin in Vermont, and then I was so honored to be asked to be a part of their wedding.

On the day of the wedding, James and Sara were a little nervous about doing a first look. They weren’t sure that they wanted to do it, but it ended up being their favorite part of the day! They were far more relaxed, and they were able to spend time with friends and family that they didn’t see very often.

From there, it was clear that the two of them were just focused on family and on each other. It was amazing to see the two of them truly get to relax and enjoy every moment as it came.

Sara & James, thank you so much for the honor of being part of your day! Your wedding was full of love, family, and warmth, and I loved being able to capture it for you!

Chelsea and Jim's Publick House Historic Inn Wedding

Ryan Williams

Chelsea and Jim were married on October 28th, with a ceremony and reception at the Publick House Historic Inn.

Jim and Chelsea met in their high school Latin class and quickly became best friends long before they even started dating. But once they got together, that was it! Jim took her back to Salem, MA, for a weekend trip and proposed at the high school where they met and now, after eight years together, they are finally tying the knot!

On the day of the ceremony, these two had opted not to have a first look, so they saw each other for the first time at the wedding itself. This ended up being the perfect decision for the two of them, as it meant that they were able to share that special moment with each other in front of their guests when they first saw each other as she was walking down the aisle!

They had asked a friend of theirs, Bob Plasse, to officiate the ceremony, which truly made the whole thing more personal and touching. He went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the day went exactly the way they wanted it to go!

Chelsea also raved about her dress, which she got from Alfred Angelo—especially about her seamstress, Maria. She said that Maria was one of the sweetest people she had ever met and bent over backwards to get her to have her dream dress!

Jim & Chelsea, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your amazing wedding! Congratulations to both of you—I wish you both so much happiness together.

Amy and Matt's Hadley Farms Meeting House Wedding

Ryan Williams

Amy and Matt were married on November 26th, with a ceremony at the Holy Name Church in Springfield, MA, and a reception at the Hadley Farms Meeting House in Hadley, MA.

These two met when they were working at the hospital. Amy had just started, though Matt had been working there for many years, and she first noticed him walking down the hallway one day. On the day of Christmas Eve, they were both working, and Amy requested an introductory meeting. She still swears that she had meetings with all the management, but Matt maintains it was just a good excuse to chat with him!

They built a friendship over the months, especially because Matt had to walk by her office anytime he came over to the hospital. Their “end of the day” talks just fueled the mutual crush until one day, Matt asked if she was interested in getting a drink. Amy just responded with an awkward comment about the restaurant—not realizing that he was asking her out! She didn’t realize what had happened until that night when she was talking with her best friend, Lindsey. The next morning, she rushed to apologize to Matt and tell him she would love to get a drink—and they spent seven hours that night talking for so long that they both forgot to actually have dinner!

Then, in 2015, the two of them were packing up for a trip to California for almost two weeks. Amy was feeling stressed about it, so Matt suggested they take a break to Stanley Park for a walk and a picnic with their dog, Frannie. That spot was especially important to them because they had gone there the previous year for Matt’s birthday and had the best picnic date of their lives. They ended up putting their blanket down in that same spot again—and that was where Matt proposed!

On the day of the wedding, both Amy and Matt were a little nervous about doing a first look. They are both traditional and wanted the traditional Catholic Mass, but when they saw each other for the first time, it was clear they grounded each other—both of them said later that it was a moment they would never forget.

Amy looked absolutely stunning in her dress from Pearl. She had been nervous about dress shopping, but the people there made her experience so much easier, and she looked confident and gorgeous in the dress she chose. By the time she walked down the aisle to Matt and they said their vows, it was clear that the only thing that mattered to them was the promises they were making to each other.

Then it was off to the reception—which was filled with little details and nods to family and friends. Matt made the little wooden centerpiece boxes so that people could “feel them” at the wedding, and both of their mothers poured so much love and work into the whole day!

The two of them shared a first dance to a song performed by Shawn Santanello. The room was silent except for Shawn, and you could see the world stop for just that moment as they were so swept up in their love for each other.

Matt & Amy, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your day! You two have such life and love for each other, and I know you’ll be happy together!

Michele and Alyssa's Wedding at the Red Barn at Hampshire College

Ryan Williams

The-Red-Barn-Hampshire-College-Wedding-Four-Wings-Photography_0001.jpg

Michele and Alyssa were married on November 05, 2016 with their ceremony and reception at the Red Barn at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA.

Michele's brother was Alyssa's best friend in college and from there it was a match made in heaven. When planning the proposal, Alyssa created a dog collar for Michele's dog, Tigger. After a romantic walk, Tigger helped pop the question!

Michele and her mom had been out shopping for a wedding dress quite a bit. While Michele desperately wanted to be done shopping for a dress and was ready to settle, they found Modern Bride and Formal Shop. When Michele put on her dress she immediately wanted to take it off because she knew if she left it on a second longer she would burst into tears all over the dress. It was very clear she wasn't settling for a dress but had truly found the perfect one. The proof is in the pictures. She looks absolutely stunning in every one.

Michele and Alyssa chose to do a first look before the ceremony because they knew it would help ease their nerves. They both appreciated that time together without any distractions. We made sure that they had our time to quietly speak their personal vows to each other and take a moment to simply be themselves.

Their first dance as a married couple was to Zac Brown Band’s “Whatever It Is” and the couple was all smiles. Their love lit up the room. The wedding was such a fun and exciting day. Michele and Alyssa said that there were so many moments when they would pause and know that they were surrounded by love and pure happiness.

They also had some advice to share:

“Our advice to other couples about photography is to hire Four Wings Photography! Ryan and Ian made our day so enjoyable with their upbeat, down-to-earth personalities. We trusted them with not only taking the perfect pictures but also all advice on what other vendors to work with and how to make the day run smoothly, it was the best choice we could have made. When planning your wedding, relax and know that everything will come together. Just have fun with it!”

We’re so thankful for their endorsement. Michele and Alyssa, it was so much fun to capture your wedding. Thank you for letting us be a part of it and we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
